Fluize Terms of Use
Version 2.1 · effective from 2026-10-25
At a glance
- Fluize is a language course from YourFirstAI Inc., a Canadian company. By creating an account, you accept these terms.
- You pick one free level; the others unlock with a one-time payment per level, with the language's monthly subscription or with points.
- Prices and charges are in Canadian dollars (CAD), for every country. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the amount and may charge a fee; in Brazil, it's an international purchase, with IOF and the day's exchange rate.
- Purchases, the subscription and points only apply when they are switched on in Fluize; while they are off, nothing is charged or earned, and their rules apply once they are switched on.
- The monthly subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel any time in My account, without writing to anyone; access stays until the end of the month already paid.
- A level bought on its own doesn't expire and stays yours for as long as Fluize operates. If Fluize ever shuts down, we give advance notice: 90 days, and we refund what you paid for levels in the previous year.
- Changed your mind? Full refund within 14 days of buying a level or of the subscription's first charge, no reason needed.
- The course is for your personal study: no copying, reselling or bots.
- The voices and images are AI-generated. We don't promise fluency or a timeline: results depend on your study.
- Nothing here takes away the rights your consumer protection law gives you.
1. Who we are and accepting these terms
Fluize is the language course from LearningFromAI, a YourFirstAI solution. The service is provided by YourFirstAI Inc., a federal Canadian corporation (CBCA, No. 1793388-6), 151 Charles St. W., Suite 100, Kitchener, ON N2G 1H6, Canada. Contact: [email protected].
By creating an account or using Fluize at learningfrom.ai, you accept these terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and, if you take part, the Points Program Rules. If you don't agree, please don't create an account.
These terms are available in Portuguese and English. Until a French version exists, Fluize isn't offered in Quebec.
2. What Fluize is
A web-based language course that you can also install on your phone as an app. There are four languages: French, Italian, English (for Portuguese speakers) and Portuguese (for English speakers). The Fluize home page shows which ones are open. Each language has a program with the same structure, Beginner 1, 2 and 3, which we are writing gradually (each course page shows what is already written), and you study it through several modes: images, listening, grammar, exercises, sounds, speaking, song and review.
What Fluize doesn't promise. We don't promise fluency, a certified level or results within any timeframe. How much you learn depends on your study. Fluize isn't certified by any official language exam. The placement test only suggests where to start.
3. Your account
- You sign in with an email and password or with Google. Signing in with LinkedIn isn't available yet; once it is, the same applies.
- Your account details must be true and the email must be yours.
- Your account is personal: don't share or sell it. One account per person.
- Keep your password safe. If you suspect misuse, write to [email protected].
4. Age
- Children under 14 can't create an account. A child may study only through an adult's account (parent, legal guardian or teacher), who holds the account, accepts these terms and supervises its use.
- Ages 14 to 17: an account is allowed when a parent or legal guardian knows and agrees. Choosing that age range at sign-up confirms this; the parent or guardian supervises its use and can reach us at [email protected].
- Anyone under 18 earns no referral points, sends no invitations and gets no newsletter.
- If we learn that a child created an account alone, we close it and delete the child's data.
5. Free levels, samples and access
- When you sign up, you pick one free level in each language. You can change that choice once, within the first 7 days.
- The first unit of every level is open as a sample.
- Other levels unlock by paying for a level (section 6), with the language's monthly subscription (section 6.1) or by redeeming points (section 9). Each one-time purchase unlocks one level of one language.
- A level unlocked for free, by a one-time purchase or with points has no recurring fee and no expiry date, and gets the improvements we make to it, under section 8. Levels opened by the subscription last while it is active (section 6.1).
6. Buying: price, currency and payment
- Purchases and the subscription may be switched off. While they are, there is no way to pay and nothing is charged; the rules in this section and in section 7 apply once they are switched on.
- Currency: Canadian dollars (CAD), for everyone. You're charged by YourFirstAI Inc., a Canadian company, always in CAD, whatever your country. The price of each level and of the subscription is shown on screen in CAD, together with this notice, before you confirm; the payment page shows the final amount in CAD.
- In Brazil, the screen shows, next to the CAD price, an estimate in Brazilian reais at the latest closing rate published by the Central Bank of Brazil (PTAX; usually the last business day's), without IOF. The amount in reais that counts is the one on your card statement.
- The final amount is shown on the payment page before you confirm. It includes the taxes that apply where you are. YourFirstAI Inc. is registered for GST/HST in Canada. If you live in Canada, we add your province's GST or HST (for example, 13% in Ontario). Outside Canada, the sale is an export and carries no Canadian tax; for that, we keep evidence of your country with each purchase and each monthly subscription charge (card country, country you entered and country you connected from).
- For now, we don't sell levels or the subscription to people in the European Union.
- Payment happens on Stripe's page. We never see or store your card number.
- The level unlocks as soon as Stripe confirms payment, usually within seconds.
- After your purchase or subscription, we email you the receipt and a link to the version of these terms in effect on that date.
- If your card isn't in CAD, your bank or card issuer converts the amount, at its own exchange rate and with its own fees, which we don't control; the amount on your statement may differ from a conversion you make beforehand. In Brazil, it's an international purchase: IOF applies and your bank uses the day's exchange rate. Refunds are also made in CAD (see the Refund Policy).
6.1 Monthly subscription
- What it unlocks: every level of the subscription's language, while it is active. One subscription covers one language.
- Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically every month, on the same date, and the amount is charged to the card you used, until you cancel. The offer screen and Stripe's page show this, with the monthly price, before you confirm. The first month is charged right away.
- How to cancel: in My account → Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's secure page. You don't need to write to anyone or give a reason. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period already paid: until then, access continues and there's no new charge. In the same place you can change your card and see your invoices.
- If a monthly charge fails: access continues for up to 3 days while Stripe retries; after that it's paused until the payment goes through. If no retry succeeds, the subscription ends.
- When the subscription ends, only the levels that came from it close. Your free level, levels bought on their own, levels unlocked with points and courtesy levels stay, and your progress is kept.
- While the subscription opens a level, that level isn't sold on its own. You can still redeem points for it, and a level unlocked with points stays on your account after the subscription ends.
- Price changes: we email you at least 30 days in advance; the new price applies from the first renewal after that period, and you can cancel before it.
- Deleting an account with a subscription: while the subscription is still charging, cancel it first (above); the Delete my account button only works after that. If you ask for deletion by email or with the Ask to delete my account button, we cancel the subscription when we receive the request; if any charge goes through after it, we refund it.
7. Cancellation and refunds
- You can ask for a full refund of a purchased level within 14 calendar days of purchase, for any reason, at [email protected]. The details are in the Refund Policy.
- Subscription: you can ask for a full refund of the first charge within 14 calendar days, at the same address; the subscription ends right away and its levels close. For renewals, cancelling takes effect at the end of the period already paid, with no partial refund for the current month, unless your local law gives you another right.
- If you are in Brazil: you keep the 7-day withdrawal right under the Consumer Defence Code (art. 49), for buying a level or taking out the subscription, through the same channel you bought with or by email. We confirm receipt of your request by email.
- If you are in Ontario or another province: you keep the cancellation rights your province's consumer protection law gives for internet agreements, including cancelling if we didn't give you the information the law requires.
- A refund removes the level from your account; a subscription refund closes the levels that came from it.
8. How long access lasts
- Access to a level unlocked for free, by a one-time purchase or with points lasts for as long as Fluize is in operation. Subscription levels last while the subscription is active (section 6.1).
- If Fluize shuts down, we'll email you in advance, at least 90 days before, and everything stays available during that time. We'll refund what you paid for levels bought with money in the 12 months before the notice, to the same payment method, without you having to ask.
- Subscription and shutdown: no subscription charge covers any period after the shutdown date; if the last charge runs past that date, we refund the unused part.
- If Fluize moves to another company, that company must keep unlocked levels under the same conditions.
9. Points
- The points program may be switched off; while it is, nothing is earned or redeemed, and its rules apply once it is switched on.
- You earn points only by spreading the word about Fluize (referrals) and by helping (reporting a problem that we accept). Never for studying, getting answers right or coming back every day.
- 25 points unlock a level. The full rules are in the Points Program Rules.
- Points have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, can't be transferred and can't be sold. If the account is deleted, they are lost.
10. What's ours: your licence
- The course (texts, audio, images, exercises, the order of the program), the brand and the software belong to YourFirstAI Inc. or its licensors.
- You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, revocable only in the cases in section 15, to study the levels unlocked in your account, in the browser or the installed app, including offline.
- The licence doesn't cover copying, bulk downloading, reselling, republishing, translating for publication, or using the content to train AI models.
11. Acceptable use
You may not:
- copy, scrape, bulk download, resell or publish the course content;
- get around the level locks, use bots or automated tools, or try to access other people's data;
- overload or attack the service, or test its security without our written permission;
- create fake or multiple accounts, refer yourself or file false reports to earn points;
- send invitations to people you don't know, or as spam;
- use Fluize for anything illegal or to harass others.
Found a security flaw? Write to [email protected]: we're grateful, and we won't take action against anyone who reports in good faith.
12. What you send us
- When you report a problem, you can add a short note. You keep ownership of what you write and give us a free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use the note only to fix and improve the course.
- Please don't put personal information about yourself or others in the note.
- Votes on proposals are only an opinion: they don't oblige us to build anything.
13. AI-generated content
- The audio voices are synthetic, generated by AI models. They are not recordings of real people.
- The scene images are also AI-generated.
- The characters are fictional. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental.
- The texts are written for the course and checked by reviewers. The audio goes through automatic and human checks. Even so, there may be mistakes in pronunciation, sound or text. If you find one, use the report button (⚑).
- Your Speaking-mode audio stays on your device: we never receive or store it.
14. Availability and changes to the service
- We work to keep Fluize running, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. Whatever is already saved on your device stays available offline.
- We may improve, fix or reorganize the course. A change never removes a level you've already unlocked or significantly reduces its content.
- Prices of levels you haven't bought may change; what you've already paid doesn't. The subscription price only changes with the notice in section 6.1.
15. Suspension and termination
- You can ask to delete your account at any time, in Account or by email. What happens to your data is in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close an account for fraud (fake accounts, self-referral, repeated false reports, bad-faith chargebacks) or a serious breach of these terms.
- Before we act, when the law and security allow, we email you the reason and you have 14 days to explain at [email protected]. A person on our team reviews your explanation and replies.
- If a closed account has a subscription, it's cancelled and there's no new charge.
- In points fraud, the points are reversed and levels unlocked with them may be removed.
- Levels paid with money are only removed through a refund or a chargeback. If we close an account for a serious breach, we refund what you paid for levels bought with money in the 12 months before closure. There's no refund when the payment itself was the fraud (for example, someone else's card).
16. Liability
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
- This limit doesn't apply to harm caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or to anything the law doesn't allow us to limit.
- Nothing in these terms takes away the rights your local consumer protection law gives you. If a rule here conflicts with that law, the law wins.
17. Changes to these terms
We give at least 30 days' notice by email and in the app before a significant change. A change never removes a level you've already unlocked. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription or ask to delete your account before the change takes effect and, if you bought a level or had the subscription's first charge in the last 14 days, ask for a refund.
18. Governing law and courts
- These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
- Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, in the Region of Waterloo.
- If you are a consumer in Brazil, you keep all your rights under the Consumer Defence Code and may sue in the courts where you live (art. 101, I).
- If you are a consumer in Quebec or another Canadian province, you keep the rights your province's consumer law gives you, including its courts.
- If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protection of your country's mandatory rules.
- There is no mandatory arbitration, and nothing here prevents a class action where the law allows one.
